No voy a discutir ese desmentido aquí. Voy a hacer algo más útil: poner sobre la mesa los diecisiete casos anteriores en los que sostuve algo, me desmintieron, y meses después apareció la confirmación.I will not argue with that denial here. I will do something more useful: put on the table the seventeen previous cases where I argued something, was denied, and months later the confirmation arrived.
Porque hay una pregunta que nadie está haciendo y que importa más que mi credibilidad o la de cualquiera: ¿qué papel juega una embajada cuando desmiente, y a quién le sirve ese desmentido mientras dura?Because there is a question nobody is asking that matters more than my credibility or anyone's: what role does an embassy play when it denies something, and who does that denial serve while it lasts?
Esta no es solo una guerra jurídica. Es una guerra por el relato. Y el derecho de los mexicanos a enterarse de lo que ocurre no debería depender de quién administra mejor los tiempos.This is not only a legal war. It is a war over the narrative. And the building shown was the former diplomatic compound, which had stopped operating in November.

Uno. De un caso abierto, nadie habla. Ni el juez, ni el fiscal, ni el que investiga. Está prohibido y además sería estúpido: avisarle al que estás siguiendo. Por eso cuando preguntas y nadie contesta, no pasó nada raro. Así funciona.One. Nobody talks about an open case. Not the judge, not the prosecutor, not the investigator. It is forbidden and it would also be stupid: tipping off the person you are following. So when you ask and nobody answers, nothing strange happened. That is how it works.
Dos. Lo raro es el grito. Cuando una oficina que tiene prohibido hablar del tema sale corriendo a decir que es falso, se está saltando su propia regla. Y las instituciones no se saltan sus reglas por accidente. Alguien decidió que valía la pena.Two. The strange thing is the shout. When an office forbidden from discussing the matter rushes out to call it false, it is breaking its own rule. And institutions do not break their rules by accident. Someone decided it was worth it.

But a denial that gets ahead of a sealed case file says far more than it intends to hide.
Y luego está la prueba dura, que es la que a mí me convenció y no el razonamiento anterior. En este expediente, ninguno de los desmentidos se sostuvo. Ni el de las órdenes de aprehensión. "This information is false." The verified official account of the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, publicly responding to Simón Levy's tweet listing the accused. The response lasted two hours before the U.S. judicial authority itself confirmed the proceedings existed.
La acusación sustitutiva del gran jurado del Distrito Sur de Nueva York. Rubén Rocha Moya aparece como primer nombrado. El resto de la lista incluye a Enrique Díaz Vega y Gerardo Mérida Sánchez, los mismos que meses después se entregarían en Estados Unidos. Cargo uno: Conspiración para la importación de narcóticos.
The superseding grand jury indictment from the Southern District of New York. Rubén Rocha Moya appears as the first named defendant. Toque cada caso. Verá qué sostuve, qué lo confirmó y qué autoridad lo hizo. Si encuentra uno solo que no se haya confirmado, el registro entero pierde valor. Ese es el estándar que me impongo.
Metodología. Se incluyen únicamente casos donde existe confirmación oficial verificable y públicamente consultable: acusaciones formales, órdenes de aprehensión ejecutadas, comunicados oficiales de dependencias estadounidenses o mexicanas, y designaciones publicadas. No se incluyen rumores, versiones periodísticas sin documento ni testimonios sin respaldo. Todas las personas mencionadas gozan de presunción de inocencia; las imputaciones se atribuyen a la autoridad correspondiente y no constituyen sentencia.

Lo que sigue son algunos ejemplos de todo lo que he dicho que ocurriría, con las fechas en que lo publiqué. No es una lista exhaustiva. Es una muestra verificable de un patrón más largo.What follows are some examples of everything I said would happen, with the dates I published them. It is not an exhaustive list. It is a verifiable sample of a longer pattern.
Metodología. Fecha base: el punto medio conservador del mes de publicación de cada caso. Fecha de cierre: la del confirmación oficial correspondiente. Se excluyen los ocho casos sin fecha de publicación documentada. El promedio se calcula solo sobre los cinco medibles, lo que hace la cifra más baja y más defendible que si incluyera estimaciones.
El número que sale es 293 días. Ocho meses entre publicar algo y que ocurra. El caso más rápido tardó 67 días: la designación de los cárteles como organizaciones terroristas. El más lento, 536: el patrón de revocaciones de visa, publicado en febrero de 2025 y formalizado el 5 de agosto de 2026.
Nueve meses y medio no es un dato de vanidad. Es un margen operativo: el tiempo que alguien tuvo para decidir antes de que la noticia fuera pública.
Los diecisiete casos no son diecisiete historias. Son el mismo río visto desde diecisiete puentes.The seventeen cases are not seventeen stories. They are the same river seen from seventeen bridges.
Y el río tiene cuatro corrientes, nada más. Se las digo en una línea cada una.And the river has just four currents. One line each.
La primera: a los cárteles los declararon terroristas. Eso cambió todo, porque a un terrorista no solo se le persigue a él: se persigue a quien le presta la casa, el banco o el silencio.The first: cartels were declared terrorists. También es hecho verificable que el senador reapareció en el Senado el 20 de julio tras semanas de ausencia y evitó responder si le retiraron la visa y si dejará su escaño en septiembre. No dijo que no. No dijo que sí. No dijo nada.It is also verifiable fact that the senator reappeared in the Senate on July 20 after weeks of absence and avoided answering whether his visa was revoked and whether he will leave his seat in September. He did not say no. He did not say yes. He said nothing.
Lo que sostengo es lo único que este texto puede sostener, y es bastante: en diecisiete casos anteriores, el desmentido oficial no significó ausencia de expediente. Así se hace en cualquier casa: uno regaña y el otro seca las lágrimas. Nadie se pone de acuerdo en voz alta, pero cada quien sabe su papel.It works like any household: one scolds and the other dries the tears. Nobody agrees out loud, but each knows their role. El Departamento de Justicia acusa, el Tesoro sanciona, la DEA advierte y el Departamento de Estado revoca. Y en la nueva sede de Polanco alguien tiene que sostener la reunión del martes, la cooperación migratoria y la agenda comercial con el gobierno al que le acaban de tocar el gabinete.
Uno. Las órdenes de aprehensión. Cuando publiqué que existían procesos federales en curso, el desmentido llegó desde una cuenta institucional, no desde un documento. Dos horas después, la autoridad judicial estadounidense confirmó lo contrario. El 30 de abril de 2026 hubo acusación de un gran jurado.One. The arrest warrants.
